A Pop-Up Gaeltacht (tob-Ghaeltacht) is an informal gathering of Irish speakers, often held in pubs or cafés, designed to create a vibrant, Irish-speaking environment outside traditional, rural Gaeltacht regions.
Â
-
Atmosphere: These events are designed to be relaxed, friendly, and low-pressure. Unlike formal classes, the focus is on social immersion and "the craic".
-
Inclusivity: They welcome everyone from native speakers (lÃofa) to those with just a "cúpla focal" (a few words) or even absolute beginners. We even provide handy phrase sheets or mini-lessons to help beginners get started.
Â

-
Bring yourself and be prepared to speak Irish.
-
Have a pen or pencil handy, and some money for food and drink!
Â
Originating in Dublin in 2017, these social meetups welcome all proficiency levels to chat, drink, and socialise exclusively in Irish.
